Celtics fans confident Boston will close out NBA Finals tonight
BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The energy was electric outside of TD Garden Monday evening ahead of Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Many Celtics fans said they were confident that Boston would hang up Banner 18 tonight.
For some, it was a family affair, as well as a homecoming joined by the entire family.
“It is the best feeling, because you are bringing your kids to where you grew up so you could feel some of the things you felt,” one South Carolina resident said.
After Friday night’s tough loss, fans said they still have confidence in this Celtics team.
“We are just winning in front of the fans, everyone is going to be here,” North Andover resident Dylan Bandle said. “I hope to see Kevin Garnett. It’s going to be popping here. It had to be done in Boston.”
Whether fans were going into the game or not, they were amped up.
“We are going to find a spot in the North End, pile in, and be emotional,” Chicago resident Jack Casey said.
One young fan, Carter Venetz, from South Carolina, channeled the 2008 Celtics.
“One thing that Kevin Garnett said, ‘anything is possible,'” Venetz said. “Anything is possible!”
Anything is possible tonight.
