CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — A Central Falls dispatcher will be honored Thursday for his quick thinking that saved the life of an 8-day-old baby.

Mayor Maria Rivera will present a citation to Timothy Greves at City Hall.

A family rushed to the doors of the fire station one night last month, holding their baby, who was blue and not breathing.

Greves heard them and delivered life-saving back blows on the baby while calling firefighters for help.

That’s when a bilingual firefighter stepped in to help keep the family calm.

The baby was breathing and back in his father’s arms before the family was transferred to the hospital.

The family Greves helped and the firefighters who assisted will be present.
