Central Falls fire crews respond to multi-family house fire on Cowden Street

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — The Central Falls Fire Department responded to a multi-family house fire on Cowden Street Monday.

Around 5:30 p.m., crews responded to a second-alarm structure fire, according to the Providence Canteen.

Officials said the fire occurred on the second floor of the building, which has five apartments in total.

According to Central Falls Fire Department Deputy Chief Sam Dyman, the building sustained smoke and water damage.

Nobody was injured.

The Red Cross is helping the families affected.

Mutual aid from Pawtucket, Cumberland, and Lincoln responded to the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
