Central Falls to open city’s first tennis courts

CENTRALL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — Central Falls will no longer be the only municipality without a tennis court.

According to a release, state and city leaders will be joined by representatives from the U.S. Tennis Association to celebrate the opening of tennis courts on Sacred Heart Avenue tomorrow.

Officials said the new courts will help bring the sport to more inner-city youth and their families.

Through a partnership with Progreso Latino, Central Falls elementary and middle school students are receiving free tennis lessons and equipment.

The city said lessons and equipment will be available to adults this summer too.
