Central Falls woman charged with domestic felony assault

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. – At approximately 7:15am Monday, Central Falls Police responded for reports of a domestic disturbance.

Officers arrived at 91 Sylvian Street, Apartment #2, in Central Falls and came in contact with the victim identified as 20-year-old male who resides on the second floor of the home.

The male victim stated that his girlfriend had just stabbed him and that he received a two inch laceration to the left side of his body.

The female subject was identified as 19-year-old Destiny Simas also of Central Falls.

Simas approached officers and stated that she had “cut” her boyfriend and it was an accident.

Simas was taken into custody and transported to the station for processing while the victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

The victim is currently at the hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Simas was arraigned this morning in the 6th District Court in Providence and charged with Domestic Felony Assault.

Simas was given bail in the amount of $5000.00 with surety, issued a no contact order and given a court date of 10/31/16.
