BOSTON, Mass (WLNE)  – Domestic violence charges were dropped Friday morning against Boston Bruins veteran Milan Lucic.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office determined they could no longer prove the domestic violence charge after the victim invoked martial privilege, declining to testify. A judge also ruled that the 911 call information was inadmissible.

“This situation is something prosecutors encounter quite often in matters involving domestic violence,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Chief of Communications James Borghesani. “We handled this case exactly as we would any other presenting a similar set of circumstances.”

These charges all stem from an altercation Lucic had with his wife back in November.

Lucic hasn’t played in a Bruins game since October 21st. He is currently on a leave of absence from the team.
