Charges dropped against Johnston teacher

The charges against a Johnston High School teacher have been dropped.

Greg Russo was charged with embezzlement and counterfeiting last year, but the Attorney General’s Office says they now feel there’s no probable cause for the charges against him.

The 57-year-old science teacher was arraigned in December, accused of forging 50 checks totaling just under $2,000.

Russo told police he would use his  credit card to pay for school events and then reimburse himself.
