Charlotte Lester murder suspect due for court hearing

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Mark Perkins, the man accused of killing Charlotte Lester, is due back in court Tuesday morning for his bail hearing.

Lynn Dubois worked at a Cumberland Farms in the Appanoug section of Warwick at the time of Lester’s disappearance.

She spent Monday painting a picture to the judge of the moments she says Perkins came into her Cumberland Farms on the morning of may 17, 2022, just one day after Lester was last seen.

“I asked him is she okay, is she breathing? And he said, well I don’t know I think I killed her, wI may have killed her,” said Dubois.

Several witnesses took the stand Monday and Perkins’ bail hearing will continue throughout the rest of the week.

For now, he remains in custody.
