Child, 5, hit by car in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A child was hit by a car in Woonsocket Friday morning, according to authorities.
The crash happened just after 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Robinson Street and Wood Avenue.
Chief Thomas Oates said the 5-year-old child was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with substantial but non-life threatening injuries.
Oates said the driver of the car was looking at traffic to the left to turn onto Wood Avenue, when she made the move to turn right and didn’t allegedly see a group of children.
Police said she was cooperative at the scene. She was cited with violation for due care with a pedestrian.
No further information was immediately released.
