Christmas Day Powerball reaches $400 million

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Powerball jackpot has hit $400 million, and could be a Christmas miracle for a lucky winner.

The cash value is an estimated $292 million.

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

The next drawing will be Saturday, Christmas night.

Tickets can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. Saturday., and will be drawn at 10:59 p.m.

October was the last time a player won the Powerball drawing, when a California resident won $699.8 million.
