Christmas Eve shooting in Providence sends one man to the hospital

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A man is in the hospital after being shot multiple times in both legs on Christmas Eve.

Police were called to Rhode Island Hospital just after 10:00 Friday night after a 27-year old man showed up with gun shot wounds.

Police said the man is in stable condition and his injuries are non-life threatening.

Around the same time, police were called to Prairie Avenue, where a resident said they heard numerous gun shots outside their home.

Police investigated the area for evidence. They found 8 spent shell casings along with damage to multiple vehicles.

Police have not yet made an arrest in the case.
