Christmas morning Providence fire leaves one dead, three injured
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — One person has died and three others sustained injuries in a Christmas morning Providence house fire.
According to the Providence Fire Department, the fire started early Thursday morning at 100 Princeton Avenue.
The second alarm fire started in the basement and quickly spread through the building.
Four people were rescued from the fire by 50 responding firefighters, but one man died from smoke inhalation.
Two other occupants remain in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
