Chuck E. Cheese mascot perp-walked in full suit for alleged debit card theft

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WLNE) — There certainly won’t be a ball pit where one suspected debit card thief could be headed.

According to ABC News, a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant mascot was arrested at the child-friendly franchise in Tallahassee, Florida Thursday.

Jermel Jarreau Jones, 41, of Tallahassee, was arrested, cuffed and walked out of the Chuck E. Cheese in full costume.

According to officers, Jones initially resisted arrest:

“I grabbed his right arm while giving the verbal instruction, ‘Chuck E, come with me Chuck E,” Tallahassee police Officer Jarrett Cruz wrote in the report.

Arresting officers said that after a search of Jones, they found a stolen debit card in his pants pocket.

Jones allegedly used the card at a smoke shop, meat market and burger chain Whataburger.

He is charged with larceny.
