Cicilline to announce $350K grant for workforce training in East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rep. David Cicilline will hold a ceremony at East Providence High School Wednesday morning to announce a grant for a workforce training program.

The $350,000 in federal funding will go towards the East Providence Workforce Training Program. The program works to create workforce and professional development opportunities for about 530 low-to-moderate income young adults.

Participants can enroll in certification classes at Roger Williams University. The courses will focus on computer and leadership skills.

Cicilline will be joined at 11 a.m. by East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva, as well as leaders from the university.
