Citizens Pell Bridge Run returns to Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The thirteenth annual Citizens Pell Bridge Run was held on Sunday.

The four-mile run goes from Jamestown to downtown Newport.

Organizers said it is the only day of the year that pedestrians are allowed to cross the Newport Pell Bridge.

Proceeds from the run will go to the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Foundation.
