Closing arguments could come by week’s end in Karen Read retrial

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Wednesday, Karen Read’s defense team called their last witness, bio-mechanical engineer, Andrew Rentschler with ARCCA.

In testimony Wednesday morning, Rentschler said that John O’Keefe’s arm injuries were inconsistent with getting hit by a taillight, showing tests with cars moving at different speeds and their impact to the human arm.

The prosecution will call a rebuttal witness.

Closing arguments could come by the end of the week, with jury deliberations potentially by Friday.

Karen Read will not testify in her own defense.
