Calm and cloudy weather locally as we track Hurricane Helene
Mostly cloudy skies across the region today with similar conditions for tomorrow
with a sprinkle or rain. The rain chance and possible thunderstorm will increase tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, quiet weather today with temperatures on the cool side. A frontal system will bring
the rain chance and a shift in the wind with temperatures climbing to the mid-70s,
71° is the normal high. Drier and warmer weather will invade our region by Friday into the Weekend!!!
Not anticipating cloudless skies but we’ll get a fair amount of sunshine with temperatures around seasonable.
While we continue to enjoy the quiet weather locally, we keep our eyes on what now is Hurricane Helene .
Expected to generate life-threatening storm surge of up to 15′ water rise along some parts of the northern
Florida west coastline. On the forecast track, Helene could become a major Hurricane,
Category 3 before making landfall sometime Thursday afternoon or evening. Stay tuned.
