Coast Guard officer faces gun charges following Fairhaven disturbance

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WLNE)– An Alabama man stationed at Sector Southeast Coast Guard Station in Woods Hole is facing gun charges following an altercation with two other men in Fairhaven, police announced today.
Police responded to a report of a fight and possible gunshot fired in the area of Bridge Street and Middle Street on Friday night, Lt. Kevin Kobza said.
Two men, who haven’t been identified, told police another man had fired at them following an argument.
Police searched the area and turned up a single .9 MM shell casing, but were unable to locate the suspect.
No one was injured during the incident.
After launching an investigation, police arrested 23-year-old Sean Reilly, of Montgomery, Alabama at the Coast Guard station Tuesday morning.
Police said Reilly is a Third Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Among other charges, Reilly faces a count of Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Building and a charge of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
