Coast Guard rescues injured crewmember early Sunday morning

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE)- The Coast Guard rescued an injured fisherman by medevac 60 miles south of Nantucket on Sunday.
Coast Guard District One watchstanders said they received a report around 3:30 a.m. for an injured fisherman.
The 41-year-old crewmember needed assistance after he suffered a hand injury. The man was on a commercial fishing vessel home-ported from Stonington, Connecticut.

A Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew safely hoisted the injured man up at 7 a.m.
He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment.
