Cold air returns for the midweek, messy mix likely Thursday

It was a mild start to the week with temperatures well into the 40s today, melting much of the few inches of snow that fell last night.
With all of the moisture on the ground, it is fortunate that temperatures largely remain above freezing tonight.
Tuesday turns mostly sunny, breezy and still mild with highs again in the 40s. Colder air awaits for Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Wake-up temperatures will be in the teens on Wednesday, with afternoon temps struggling to reach the freezing mark.
Our next storm system approaches on Thursday – a ‘slop storm’ as I like to call them. Snow changes over to sleet and then rain.
We get a break Friday into Saturday but late Saturday into Sunday morning looks to bring another messy storm, starting as snow and then likely mixing.
Looking towards next week, the active jet stream continues and we likely see a few more storms.
Have a great week!
