PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Olneyville New York System has agreed to sell its two restaurants to the Heritage Restaurant Group after nearly 80 years in business, according to a joint statement from both parties.

The Cranston and Providence locations of Olneyville are being sold by owner Greg Stevens after four generations in his family.

Heritage stated that they intend to retain all employees of both restaurants to “ensure a seamless transition with the Heritage team.”

“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude towards our dedicated employees and loyal customers,” said Stevens.

“We approached the Heritage Restaurant Group because we are confident that they will uphold the family values and traditions that have made Olneyville N.Y. System Restaurant a beloved dining destination for almost 80 years.”

“We are excited to add Olneyville N.Y. System Restaurant to our portfolio of wonderful, storied institutions that make up the Heritage Restaurant Group,” said Michael Anderson, a Heritage spokesperson.

Details on the deal are still being finalized.
