Conn. man dies in Jamestown drowning

JAMESTOWN – A Connecticut man died Sunday, after drowning at Fort Wetherill in Jamestown.

Authorities received an emergency call around 10:40 a.m. of an unresponsive diver, according to Rayna Maguire with the Department of Environmental Management. The 40 year-old man from Windsor was scuba diving with a group of divers at the time.

Jamestown Rescue rushed him to Newport Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released and the incident is still under investigation.
