Convicted rapist on the run for 17 years to be extradited to Massachusetts
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A convicted rapist from Massachusetts who has been on the run for nearly seventeen years is now in custody and awaiting extradition.
The U.S. Marshals service confirmed that Tuen Kit Lee was arrested Tuesday in Danville, California.
Lee fled Massachusetts during his trial in 2007 but was convicted anyway of rape and kidnapping.
Early this year, Massachusetts state police saw images on social media that appeared to be of Lee.
Police were able to connect those images to a flower shop owner in Diablo, California.
Lee has been booked and is being held pending his extradition to Massachusetts.
