Convicted sex offender charged with sexual assault

A convicted sex offender is being held without bail Wednesday on charges of sexual assault.

Police say Ronald Guertin, 61, allegedly attacked a 53-year-old woman Tuesday at a residence on Tiffany Street in Providence.

The woman was able identify Guertin from his work as a handyman.

Police were able to arrest Guertin at his home on Hendricks Street Tuesday.

Guertin was arraigned Wednesday morning.
