Cooler, less humid today
Lots of sunshine over the next few days
Today is an exciting day – it’s the start of back-to-school season in Southern New England! Woonsocket, West Warwick, Smithfield, and Scituate schools are all welcoming kiddos back for at least some grades today, while Providence public schools will follow suit tomorrow. The good news is, outdoor recess should be a go the next few days with a mostly dry pattern in place until Friday.
After the cold front that passed through yesterday afternoon/evening, humidity has dropped off quite a bit and temperatures are a tad lower as well. A crisp Tuesday morning gives way to temperatures in the upper 70s this afternoon, with abundant sunshine. There will be a breeze out of the west that could be gusty at times, up to 20mph or so.
We have another front that approaches tomorrow afternoon, and this will continue to slowly drop our temperatures as we head toward the end of the week. We could have a spot shower tomorrow afternoon as well, but the vast majority of us will stay dry. The real chance for rain comes into play Friday afternoon – this is when we could see some downpours and maybe even a few rumbles of thunder.
We clear out just in time for the holiday weekend! Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day Monday are looking great for any outdoor plans you may have.
Have a great day!
