Cooler Today, but Still Unsettled

Showers/storms will be isolated this afternoon before more widespread rain moves in overnight

Good morning!

Hope you’re doing okay after last night’s storms – they packed quite the punch! We picked up over 1″ of rainfall in many spots, with the heaviest of the rain through Bristol County, MA. This led to a few reports of flooding there. There was also quite a bit of lightning overnight, and this caused two structure fires – one in Bristol, RI and one in Barrington, RI. Although we’re clearing out this morning, use caution on your morning commute just in case there are some lingering impacts out there.

Today is shaping up to be much cooler than we’ve seen the past few days, with highs topping out in the low 80s. It will still be quite humid though, and that will give way to an isolated chance for a shower or storm this afternoon. I don’t think these will be as widespread or as strong as yesterday’s storms, but it’s something to keep in mind – you may need to pack an umbrella in the car this morning for the evening commute later on.

More widespread rain and even some thunder moves in overnight tonight and rain sticks around through the morning commute tomorrow. It’s looking like we dry out heading into tomorrow afternoon, but clouds will hang tough all day. Highs tomorrow will be even cooler, topping out in the upper 70s inland.

Our unsettled trend continues through Friday, but the weekend is looking great all things considered – comfortable and mostly dry, with only the chance for a stray shower on Saturday.

Have a great day!
