Cooling center to be opened in Fall River due to extreme heat

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan said a cooling center would be opened at the Fall River Government Center due to extreme heat expected on July 25.

The cooling center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the lobby.

Coogan added that residents should check in with friends and family during the heat, and to drink water and stay in a cool area.
