Couple arrested and charged in New Bedford with trafficking fentanyl

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – A Dartmouth couple was arrested by New Bedford police Monday and charged with trafficking in fentanyl.

New Bedford detectives executed a search warrant at the East River Dr. residence of Gary Hamel, 25. In the search detectives located 796 wax folders, and additional plastic bags, of fentanyl, cutting agent, and $200 in cash.

According to police Hamel’s girlfriend, Amy Gaspar, 25, was also arrested and charged.
