Coventry High School moving to distance learning for remainder of week

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE)- Coventry High School will be moving to distance learning for the remainder of the week, according to a letter sent to families on Wednesday.
The reasoning for the move is because of a surge in positive COVID-19 cases amongst teachers and staff, as well as students.
There were 43 staff members absent from school on Wednesday, including four nurses, and over 400 students absent.
Many of the aforementioned absences were COVID-19 related, according to the school.
The school will make a decision regarding next week’s learning over the weekend.
