Coventry High School on distance learning after 30 staff members, 200 students in quarantine

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) – Coventry High School announced in an email that 30 staff members and over 200 students are in quarantine, according to Principal Brooke Macomber.
Last week, Coventry High School moved to distance learning after staff members and students were notified as being potential close contacts to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. These individuals were required to stay home until they heard from the Rhode Island Department of Health.
Macomber says that since then, many have heard from RIDOH and were instructed to quarantine.
Almost 30 staff members and over 200 students cannot return to the building for the week, forcing the school to remain on distance learning through Friday, November 20.
