Coventry man found guilty on sexual assault charge
COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said that a Coventry man was found guilty of sexually assaulting a female victim in 2020.
Austin Davis was found guilty of one count of first-degree sexual assault.
Neronha said the 28-year-old had been accused of sexually assaulting an incapacitated victim while at a house party in October 2020.
The victim reported the assault at Kent Hospital the next day, and a DNA test taken by Davis matched the results of the victim’s sexual assault exam.
Davis is currently being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions and is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 5, 2024.
