Coventry Police arrest man for allegedly causing ‘disturbance’ at polling place

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Coventry Police Department said a male was arrested at the Maple Root Baptist Church polling place for allegedly “causing a disturbance.”

33-year-old Timothy Masse was charged with disorderly conduct.

Police responded to the area at 10:15 a.m. and said the incident involved voters and political supporters.

The department said an investigation revealed that Masse was allegedly “confrontational with voters, political supporters, and election staff, yelling obscenities and vulgar remarks interfering with polling operations.”

He also allegedly continued to cause a disturbance after the officers arrived.
