Coventry police arrest sex offender for violating probation

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) Coventry police arrested a Level Three sex offender for failing to register the address he had been staying at in the town.
Police said 55-year-old David Tiernan, a Cranston resident, had been staying at an address on Tiogue Avenue for several weeks without notifying them, a violation of his probation.
Tiernan was taken into custody without incident, and after processing at Kent County Courthouse, will be held at the Adult Correctional Institution in Cranston without bail, according to a police statement.
