The Coventry Police department searches for five suspects who used counterfeit money at a Walmart.

On April 27 at about 7 pm two white males and three white females whom could possibly be Hispanic used one hundred dollar bills at separate registers to make purchases fewer than ten dollars and get real change back. This occurred at the Walmart on New England Boulevard.

The five suspects are believed to be between 18 and 25 years old.

Officials say the second male returned an Xbox with a receipt from a Walmart in Suffern, NY.

They say the third female tried to purchase 2 Apple iPads using fake one hundred dollar bills but was unsuccessful.  Walmart management declined the transaction once they discovered the counterfeit bills.

The five suspects left the store in a silver Chevy Cruze with a Virginia registration of WTP-5970.

The Chevy Cruze is registered to Hertz Car Rentals and is an active stolen vehicle from New York.

The Coventry Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact Detective Sgt. Kevin Nolan at 401-826-1100.
