Coventry takes ownership of Johnson’s Pond

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Town of Coventry appeared in court Friday to address the condemnation of Johnson’s Pond, where the judge ruled in favor of the town.
Coventry is now the owner of Johnson’s Pond and its associated land, dam and structures, according to the town’s Facebook page.
The judge also ruled in favor of Coventry’s proposed valuation of $157,000.
Those funds were deposited in the court registry Friday.
