Coventry to hold emergency rabies vaccine clinic after rabies-positive cat case

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — Coventry animal control is holding an emergency rabies vaccine clinic Wednesday after a rabid cat was found earlier this month.

Animal control is asking that residents pre-register their pets on the Coventry Police Department website.

Nonregistered pets can still be vaccinated though there will be an increased wait time.

The clinic is also open to non-Coventry residents and begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Coventry Annex at 1675 Flat River Road.

The vaccination is $20, and the clinic is only accepting cash.
