Coventry, Warwick Boards of Canvassers identify issues with signatures for Republican Vivek Ramaswamy
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) –The Rhode Island Board of Elections sent a notice to all Boards of Canvassers in the state after issues were identified with signatures submitted by the presidential campaign of Vivek Ramaswamy.
Spokesperson Chris Hunter said that the Coventry Board of Canvassers identified an “unusually high number of invalid signatures” on primary nominating papers submitted by Ramaswamy’s campaign.
He added that the Warwick Board of Canvassers identified a number of deceased individuals whose signatures were submitted by Ramaswamy’s campaign.
Hunter said that no challenges or appeals for any signatures have been received, and that the deadline for submitting signatures to take part in the primary is Thursday, Jan. 11.
