Craigslist sale turns into attempted robbery, shooting

Neighbors were shocked to see police swarm their East Side neighborhood after a morning shooting.
"It’s very bizarre…I moved here a couple months ago it’s always quiet."
"It’s pretty crazy to see a lot of things going on over here…"
Detectives combed the streets looking for clues after what started as a routine Craigslist sale went horribly wrong.
Police say a man from New York was communicating back and forth with an individual from Providence for a couple of days over the sale of a vehicle.
When he came to look at it this morning, police say an altercation broke out, and the seller tried to rob him.
Commander Thomas Oates says, "he was shot by either a pellet gun or small caliber weapon that grazed his head."
People who live nearby say it’s unusual for something like this to happen there
"It’s very unexpected…I don’t know what happened or why but it’s a presence I don’t want in my neighborhood."
The victim went to the hospital with a minor head injury.
There’s still no word on a suspect.
