Cranston 14-year-old hit by two cars in ‘serious but stable’ condition

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Chief Michael Winquist said that the 14-year-old boy who was struck by two cars on Wednesday night is in “serious but stable” condition.

Winquist told ABC 6 that the boy underwent surgery Thursday night.

According to the Cranston Police Department, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the boy was riding a bicycle down a hill towards Bracken Street and failed to stop where it intersects with Dyer Avenue.

The boy entered Dyer Avenue and was struck by two cars, police said. Both drivers stopped and cooperated with investigators. Neither were found to be under the influence.

The crash is still under investigation.
