Cranston Citizens Bank robbed Friday

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said said that a bank was robbed in the early afternoon Friday.

Chief Michael Winquist said that officers were dispatched to the Citizens Bank on Park Avenue after reports of a robbery.

The suspect was said to have given a teller a note demanding money and did not brandish a weapon. He then left the area with cash on a bike.

Winquist described him as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a gray hooded Nike sweatshirt, a black baseball cap, sweatpants, and white sneakers.

The department is currently investigating the incident and are asking anyone with any information to call 401-942-2211 or text CRANSTONPD to 847411.
