Cranston Man Charged With Murder of his 3-Month-Old Son

The Cranston father who was being investigated for the death of his 3-month-old son is being accused of murder.

Police say 24-year-old Elias Romero was watching the boy at their Station Street home Thursday afternoon when the infant stopped breathing.

First responders rushed the baby to the hospital where doctors found signs of shaken baby syndrome.

On Saturday the infant passed away from his injuries.

Romero was arrested and charged with first-degree child abuse, but that charge has since been upgraded to murder.

Romero is being held at the ACI until a bail hearing on July 25th.
