Cranston man arrested for child molestation

Police have arrested a 46-year-old man from Cranston for first degree child molestation.

Police began the investigation after it was reported that the suspect had sexually assaulted a 10-year-old child that was known to him at the time.

Robert P. Barboza was taken into custody Friday in Providence.

Barboza is currently being held for arraignment.
