Cranston man arrested in connection to East Greenwich stabbing

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — A Cranston man was arrested in connection to a stabbing in East Greenwich over the weekend.

East Greenwich police responded to the area of King and Crop streets at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday for a reported stabbing.

They said a 51-year-old man suffered a serious wound to the arm. He was treated and brought to Rhode Island Hospital.

Police then investigated a suspect vehicle, later found by police in Cranston.

Cranston officers took 47-year-old Theodore Craven into custody for his alleged involvement.

According to online court records, Craven was charged with felony assault and battery, a felony charge of conspiracy, and duty to render assistance.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
