A Rhode Island man has died after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.

Massachusetts State Police say that 24-year-old Makthra Men, of Cranston, was traveling northbound on Interstate 495 around 1:40 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle just north of Exit 21.

Troopers say Men’s 2008 Hyundai Sedan spun out from the middle lane, hitting guardrails on both sides of the highway before a tractor collided with his vehicle.

The driver of the trailer, a 33-year-old Northborough man, told police he tried slowing down to avoid the crash but was unsuccessful. He was not injured.

Men was rushed to UMass Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where he was pronounced deceased.
