Cranston man found guilty of killing Yorkie

CRANSTON, R.I. — A 60-year-old Cranston man was found guilty Tuesday of brutally beating his neighbor’s Yorkie to death.

Back in 2014, Nicola Patalano was walking his own dog when his neighbor’s Yorkie began to bark at his much bigger terrier.

Patalano proceeded to hit the Yorkie, named “Missy,” with a wooden cane despite its owner’s pleas for him to stop.

Missy later died at the veterinarian’s office.

Patalano admitted in court that he hit Missy in hopes of killing the animal.
