Cranston man pleads guilty to drug trafficking charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Cranston man pled guilty in court on Monday to charges relating to the trafficking of tens-of-thousands of methamphetamine-laced pills, according to Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.

37-year-old Anthony Stevens, of Cranston, pled guilty to two counts of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives began investigating Stevens in November 2023, as well as the Drug Enforcement Administration.

After nine months of investigating, the DEA seized 30,226 pills containing methamphetamine from Steven’s vehicle and a residence, as well as $3,360, according to Bloom.

Stevens is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 30.
