Cranston man sentenced for child molestation

David Pope, 50, was sentenced to 30 years with 10 years to serve and 20 of them suspended with probation.
Pope was charged with molesting a minor that he had a close relationship with.
Pope pleaded nolo contendere to one count of first degree child molestation and one count of fraudulent credit card use in 2008 and was ordered to reimburse $19,000.
Pope was ordered to not have any contact with the victim and has to attend sex offender counseling. He also has to notify communities when moving and will be monitored by GPS.
