Cranston police arrest 2 after chase in Walmart parking lot

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Cranston police arrested two people after a chase at a Walmart parking lot.
Officers were called for a reported disturbance at the Walmart on Plainfield Pike at about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The caller told police she and her boyfriend ran into the back room after being chased by someone who said the caller’s boyfriend owed him money and that he had a gun.
The caller said the suspect was a light skinned Black man with tattoos on his face and arm. She said it looked like two other men were with him.
Officers saw three people meeting the caller’s descriptions leaving the store when they arrived. After a brief foot chase, two were arrested, and a third got into a vehicle and refused to stop for police and yield for emergency vehicles as they left the parking lot.
Daniel Collado, 21, and Richard Hiraldo, 25, were taken into custody. Both men are from Providence.
Collado faces disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges. Hiraldo was wanted for an active warrant for passing a counterfeit bill.
Officers did not follow the fleeing vehicle once it reached Plainfield Pike “due to the location and dangerousness if pursued.”
The suspect vehicle shortly returned, driven by a female, who was briefly detained.
Police said the third suspect was identified, and the department was completing an arrest warrant. Police did not release their name.
A gun was not found at the scene.
