Cranston Police arrest 4 after robbery of teenagers

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said that four people were arrested in connection with a robbery of a 14-year-old and 16 year-old in the Chapel View Plaza.
20-year-old Jaemari Lucas, of East Providence, 18-year-old Jonathan Brito, of Providence, 18-year-old Helder Erben Martins, of Woonsocket, and a 15–year-old were each charged with robbery in the first degree and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Around 5:30 p.m. on April 14 police responded to the Cold Stone Creamery at the plaza where the juvenile victims reported being confronted and robbed at gunpoint by a group of four males.
The department said the victims told officers that they were approached by the suspects who demanded personal belongings, including designer shoes, a sweatshirt, and jewelry, and that one of the suspect pulled out a firearm and threatened to shoot one of the teenagers.
The suspects then fled in a rideshare, and after an investigation were arrested by police.
The department alleged that the four were found with “high-value clothing and accessories, such as a Spider brand sweatshirt and Balenciaga sneakers,” and one was wearing the allegedly stolen shoes.
Police added that additional victims came forward after the arrests and said they were also robbed by the suspects.
