Cranston Police arrest man in connection with ATM skimming scam

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said that a West Springfield man was arrested in connection with an ATM skimming scan targeting local credit unions.
33-year-old Ivan Gomez Liriano was charged with computer access fraud, intentional access and alteration of computer data, and conspiracy to commit these felonies.
Police said that Liriano allegedly installed skimming devices to capture victims’ credit and debit card information at multiple locations.
The investigation took place over six weeks, and Liriano was identified by his license plate being identified at multiple locations near the crime scenes.
A judge set Liriano’s bail at $5,000 and he is expected back in court in July.
